Foster Trial – Results

We had a 7am start with the Novice, with Mark Dunmore judging. With an overall of about 80 runs we were in for a long day. George Pickles, Ben Dixon and Andrew Whelan ended up running in the finals, with Andrew and Burls getting the winning score of 94 + 96 =190. This qualified Burls for a run in the Open as well.

Around midday we started the Open, judged by Darren McAinch. It didn’t seem to take long, the dogs worked well and before we knew it Adam James, Andrew Whelan and Grace Scott competed in the final. The winning run was again Andrew and Burls, with a score of 96 + 94 = 190.

It was about 4pm when the Encourage kicked off. The sheep were getting tricky by now, and it was getting hot (for Gippsland standards!). Matty Upton with Banksy took out the win with a score of 96.

Overall a great day, it all ran smoothly. During the whole day but especially at lunchtime there was quite a crowd watching and we got nice feedback from several people that it was ‘amazing to watch the dogs’.

Thanks to the judges, all volunteers and sponsors for another great trial day to showcase our beautiful and skilled working dogs.
